Finding Ads

This is Katie's finding ad. Look how chubby she was! The orphanage gave us a copy of her ad but it wasn't very good quality. I ordered this from Brian Stuy. I can't say enough about the quality of what we received from him. We received a blown up picture of her finding ad with a negative for reprints, an actual copy of the newspaper that has her finding ad plus they translated all of the information under her ad. He is pricey but I think it's well worth it as this is just another piece of Katie's life she will have. We also ordered the DVD he put together on Chongqing which is also great. We didn't get to travel to her orphanage as Katie was sick and we weren't so sure it was a good idea besides that. It shows all of the touristy places as well as towns in the area and the popular finding spots in each town. There is video of each orphanage in the area and it showed the gates to Dianjiang as well which is where Katie was found. I highly recommend his service even though it is expensive. All of what you see here plus the DVD was a little over $100.

Brevard Zoo

It's a beautiful 84 degree day here in Florida and my parent's are visiting so we decided to go to the Brevard Zoo. We had never been there before and didn't know what to expect. It's a wonderful small zoo and everyone had a great time! This was a sand sculpture as you enter the zoo. Very cute! Taylor got her face painted like a panda (I think she looks more like Beetlejuice!) Enjoy the pics...

Christmas Cookies For Santa

Picking out just the right spot for Santa's cookies. Rudolph will get a few carrots tonight as well. This was our very first attempt at making sugar cookies from scratch and I found a super recipe that worked beautifully. Taylor did the decorating. The last pic doesn't look so yummy but they really are. We tried powdered sugar icing with food coloring for those. It was fun and the start of a new tradition!
