More ICE

Gaylord Palms ICE!

Here are some pics from the exhibit. There wasn't nearly as much there as I thought there would be but it was still neat...and REALLY cold (9 degrees)!

ICE!

Today we are going to The Gaylord Palms Hotel to see the ICE! exhibit. Artisans from Harbin, China have been here in Orlando for quite a while carving ice sculptures for this exhibit. I've heard it's stunning so be looking for more pics later!

Butterfly Release

We tried to release our butterfly yesterday but she was adamant that she was not ready. This morning I took her outside in the bright sun and let her sit up on my hand in the breeze. She stayed for a while then suddenly took off and flew up in our palm tree and rested. She then flew to another frond and from there took off over the houses and down the street! Hopefully she finds a safe place to land!

The Miracles of Nature

At the church preschool that I run we have been taking care of 5 Monarch caterpillars for several weeks. Last week they all made their chrysalis and I was so hoping that they would hatch before Thanksgiving break but they didn't. I brought them home with me yesterday and this morning right in front of my eyes this beautiful creature emerged. It is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen! Only God could design such a magnificent process. She (yes she is a female) will migrate to California since she is a late hatching Monarch. I hope she survives the long trip ahead of her!
